Veirano Advogados' Founding Partner
Ronaldo C. Veirano is the founding partner of Veirano Advogados and began his activities in Brazil in 1972 as a partner of Baker & McKenzie. In 1996 Ronaldo and VEIRANO ADVOGADOS separated from the U.S. firm to become an office with a national and independent base. Nowadays VEIRANO ADVOGADOS is considered one of the top and largest Brazilian law firms with over 200 lawyers spread among its five offices around Brazil.
From 1966 to 1971, Ronaldo C. Veirano worked for the Kendall Company in Boston, Massachusetts, as an attorney focused on international affairs. He is a member of several national and international associations and plays an important role on the top management of several of these institutions. He is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Brazil-United States Business Board - Brazilian Section; Brazil-China Business Board; Coordinator of the Governance and Nominating Committee of the IBGC (Brazilian Corporate Governance Institute) of which he is one of the founding partners, Board of Directors of UMOE Bioenergy ASA and member of the Advisory Board of the Brazil Institute of the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington, DC.
In August of 2000, he was appointed as the Honorary Consul of Australia in the city of Rio de Janeiro, and works intensively to promote business between the two countries.
In the beginning of 2008 he was nominated, by the Brazilian Government, to join the Fulbright Commission, which grants scholarships to Brazilian students in the United States.
In September of 2009, Veirano was appointed by the Governor-General of Australia, Mrs. Quentin Bryce, as an Honorary Member in the General Division of the Order of Australia. This represents recognition of the services provided to Australia and to Australian citizens in Brazil. His activities in this area include assisting with all arrangements during official high level visits by Australian representatives to Brazil and encouraging the increasing activities between the two nations. He was honored, too, by the Brazilian government with the Order of Rio Branco in the Degree of Commander, and by the Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro with the Tiradentes Medal.
In September of 2011, Ronaldo was elected as the incoming Chairman of the World Services Group for the 2011-2012 year. The WSG is a global membership association whose members are among the top providers of professional business services. There are more than 130 member firms representing worldwide clients. Members operate in more than 115 countries and throughout the United States
