My recent experience is acting for business owners, landlords, contractors, consultants, insured’s, and principals in claims for monies owed, insurance disputes and claims, shareholder disputes, rent and franchising disputes, payment disputes, professional negligence, reputation management, and claims under the Australian Consumer Law.

I represent clients in the property, building, construction, local government, resources and energy, and retail sectors in State and Federal Courts, arbitral proceedings, adjudication disputes, and various ADR processes.

I also have a strong knowledge of the application of the Australian Consumer Law and the law of professional negligence as it relates to the property, construction, franchise, and resources industries.

Career Highlights

• Effective and early use of ADR – some of my greatest and most rewarding career highlights have occurred in early mediations and settlement conferences, or on the doorstep of court.
• Working with schools, churches, employers, and insurers to manage highly sensitive issues including bullying, abuse, assaults, and other sensitive commercial disputes and reputational issues.
• Acted for a construction and engineering contractor in an AUS$2 billion ICC Singapore arbitration concerning the disputed termination of an EPC subcontract to build a captive Combined Cycle power station on an LNG facility.
• Acted for Balanced Securities in Supreme Court of Queensland proceedings against a professional adviser regarding alleged professional negligence and misleading and deceptive conduct. The proceedings were run electronically and the claim was for Hungerfords damages arising from a loan made for a large construction project.
• Acted for a Global Radiopharmaceutical company against a major Australian University in relation to a dispute regarding radiopharmaceutical production, access/lease arrangements, and associated research.
