Profile
Stuart Maxey has served as head of Bradley’s Private Equity team since 2015. Stuart has also served as the marketing partner for Bradley’s Marketing and Business Development team.
Stuart has significant experience in middle-market M&A transactions. He has participated in hundreds of M&A transactions domestically and internationally across numerous industries and is among the most active M&A attorneys in the Southeast. Recently, Stuart has handled a significant number of transactions in the software, telecom, and business services sectors.
Stuart has handled transactions for the following firms and their portfolio companies: Court Square Capital, Carousel Capital, Featheringill Capital, EBSCO Capital, Arlington Family Offices, Eastside Partners, McKinney Capital, Harbert Private Equity, and New Capital Partners. In addition, he has been involved in transactions with the following firms, among others: Vista Equity Partners, AEA Investors, Pfingsten Partners, Gryphon Investors, Hicks Equity, Pamlico Capital, Genstar, and TA Associates.
In 2016, Stuart was the recipient of the M&A Advisor’s “Emerging Leader” award, recognizing the “Top 40 Under 40” M&A practitioners in the United States. Stuart was recently named “Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers for Leveraged Buyouts and Private Equity Law for 2024 and was “Lawyer of the Year” in 2022 for Mergers and Acquisitions Law. He has been ranked in ChambersUSA since 2018.
