Solving complex patent and IP issues in science and tech
Thomas Keating is an experienced patent attorney who finds solutions to complex intellectual property (IP) issues in the medical device, biotechnology, software, electrical and mechanical arts fields. In addition to developing and managing U.S. and foreign patent portfolios in these areas, he counsels clients such as Fortune 500 companies, startups and university tech transfer offices to identify inventions, develop comprehensive IP strategies and manage budgets. Thomas also:
- Prepares patentability and infringement opinions, as well as freedom-to-operate and clearance analyses.
- Researches and conducts post-grant proceedings, including IPRs, interferences and ex parte reexaminations.
- Builds and manages patent portfolios for an array of clients.
