Bill Hinds is engaged primarily in a tax and business practice with emphasis on transfer taxation (estate, gift and generation-skipping) planning. His estate practice includes preparation of wills, trusts, limited partnerships and other estate planning entities, as well as estate and trust administration. His tax practice involves general tax advice and planning, as well as handling controversies with the Internal Revenue Service. His business practice involves representation of non-public entities, as well as a number of individual clients.
Bill is a Fellow in the American College of Probate and Trust Counsel and was a frequent speaker on taxation at institutes and seminars for many years. He is past president of the Section of Taxation of the Alabama Bar Association and a former officer and member of the board of directors of the Estate Planning Council of Birmingham. He is also a former member of the governing board of the University of Alabama Federal Tax Clinic.
