Specifically, I have restructured and documented major precinct developments for the University of Wollongong, the Australian National University, the University of Canberra, and Ku-ring-gai.

I also specialise in construction, property, planning, and environmental law as well as drafting bespoke documentation.

Career Highlights

  • Advised the Ku-ring-gai Council through the delivery of its Lindfield Hub Precinct, comprising residential, commercial and retail, and community facilities. Scope of work included structuring the development and presenting structure options to Council.
  • Advised the University of Canberra (UC) in the delivery of a $100 million Health Precinct, made up of aged care and early childhood learning, allowing for additional developments including a structured car park and ancillary medical projects. This included preparing the ACT's first commercial 'declared land sublease' following reform of ACT planning law as it applied to UC.
  • Prepared and negotiated all documentation on behalf of UC for a series of major design and construction or capital works projects, including the Sporting Commons – Brumbies HQ ($15 million), Student Accommodation one ($45 million), Student Accommodation two ($50 million), GP Super Clinic ($12 million), Weedon Lodge Student Accommodation ($45 million), New Laboratory Building ($16 million), and Capital Works Upgrades ($40 million)
  • Advised the University of Wollongong (UOW) in the delivery of its $500 million Health and Wellness Precinct, comprising aged care, retirement living, child care, community facilities, structured car park, office accommodation, and potential hotel. Scope of work included structuring, tendering, and documenting the transaction.
  • Advised the Australian National University (ANU) in the delivery of its $200 million Union Court and University Avenue Precinct redevelopment project. Scope of work included creation and leasing for a 'Pop-Up Village', and leasing for all tenants of the new Union Court precinct including outsourced student health and wellbeing services and facilities.
  • Acted for the Australian National University (ANU), preparing and negotiating all documentation for the design and construction of Student Accommodation Building two and the 500 bed $53 million Student Accommodation Building five.
  • Advised Tennis ACT (TACT) in its redevelopment of the Canberra Tennis Centre, including structuring an innovative ground lease arrangement with a commercial partner to fund TACT's operations. Scope of work including structuring, design and construction documentation, and contract negotiation.
  • Advised Molonglo Group, preparing and negotiating the Agreement for Lease and Lease for the construction and occupation by the (then) Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency of the landmark and International Project of the Year $158 million Nishi Commercial Building
  • Advised Solar Fields in the development of its Mt.Majura Solar Farm, including the preparation of complex land use documentation to facilitate development and sale of the project
  • Advised the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) in the delivery of its $200 million ANGAU Hospital redevelopment in Lae, Papua New Guinea. Scope of work included preparing RFT documentation and advising on and preparing a Contract Administrator Agreement and a Managing Contractor Agreement.
