Chanatda’s practice focuses on arbitration and litigation.

Chanatda is an associate based in the Bangkok office focusing on arbitration and litigation practice.

Chanatda has substantial experience including the areas of bankruptcy law, civil and commercial law, labor law, and administrative law focusing particularly on concessionary agreements as well as representing clients in courts and business arbitration proceedings. Her representative experience involves several public-private partnership (PPP) projects and white collar crimes.

Relevant Experience

  • Represent Thailand’s largest gold mining operator in the first environmental class action lawsuit in Thailand with almost 400 class members, in which the ground of the claim is relating to the allegations of supposed wrongful acts contravening the Enhancement and Conservation of National Environmental Quality Act B.E. 2535. The case is ongoing. The class action petition proceeding is regarded as the first class action case of the Bangkok Civil Court.
  • Counsel to the largest gold mining operator regarding an administrative case against government authorities pertaining to a dispute on metallurgical license renewal as well as alleged wrongdoing by NGOs and activists on spreading false information on social media.
  • In charge of the defense of the civil lawsuit and the petition for a class action against a global automotive producer and its affiliates, totaling four entities, as the defendants. The grounds of the claim relates to defective products or unsafe product and misleading advertisements implicating the Product Liability Act, the Consumer Protection Act and class action law.
  • Counsel to the largest insurance company in Thailand regarding the spreading of false information on social media.
  • Represent and advise the large company group operating the business of developing and manufacturing metal vehicle parts, valves for air conditioners, heat treatment furnaces, etc. and their Japanese director in all commercial litigation matters, including business reorganization, criminal and civil cases filed by and against the company group and their Japanese director.
  • Represent and advise one of the largest shopping malls in Chiang Mai Province pertaining to business reorganization and related commercial litigation matters.
  • Counsel to numerous financial services companies—advised and represented those companies on brand protection and on various lawsuits filed by and against the companies, including charges of tort by defamation and claim for damages.
  • Advised US-based gas company and its Thai entity, as parties to the Gas Sales Agreement, as regards potential litigation claims in connection with the unitization of the natural gas exploration blocks under Thailand’s Petroleum Act and relevant laws.
  • Counsel to a regional office of an Australian upstream oil and gas company – conducted a closing statement for the workers being filed a criminal lawsuit against on charges of violating the National Reserved Forest Act, the Forest Act, and the Criminal Code, and related provisions of those laws. The Phitsanulok Provincial Court rendered a judgment dismissing the entire case.
  • Represented and advised the Directors of one of the largest entertainment business operators in Thailand in both criminal and civil cases with regard to share purchase disputes.
