Chris’s practice focuses on project development, financing and acquisition, with an emphasis on electric-generating facilities.

A member of the energy and infrastructure team, since joining the firm, Chris has focused primarily on the development, financing and acquisition of electric-generating facilities employing both conventional and renewable technologies in the US and Asia. Chris is familiar with a variety of financing and transaction structures, including partnership-flip, pay-as-you-go tax equity transactions, purchase and sale agreements, and traditional project financing.

Relevant Experience

  • Represented project developer / sponsor and tax equity investors with respect to the financing of various partnership flip windpower transactions on both single project and portfolio bases.
  • Represented the purchaser on the approximately $800 million cross-border acquisition of a 49% ownership interest in a combined cycle gas-fired power plant with a total gross installed capacity of 1,823 MW in South Korea.
  • Represented the minority shareholder of a 630 MW power plant and battery energy storage project in the Philippines on the divestment of its entire interest in the project for $850 million in a joint sale with the majority shareholder.
  • Represented a Thai public company in its participation in a $300 million fund acquiring and investing in oil and gas assets in North America.
  • Represented a lending group that included the Asian Development Bank on the approximately $10 million project financing of a 10MW AC photovoltaic solar plant in Cambodia.
  • Represented private equity firms on the $235 million mixed equity/debt investment in an approximately $600 million mixed-use skyscraper and retail building project in Bangkok, Thailand.
