Chris’ practice focuses on complex commercial and civil litigation.

Chris is a trial lawyer whose practice focuses on complex commercial and civil litigation disputes. He has represented plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of disputes in state and federal trial courts, arbitration, administrative proceedings, and appeals. His cases have included disputes concerning business torts, contracts, fraud, trade secrets, class actions, insurance, defamation, deceptive trade practices, real estate, construction, and toxic torts.

Chris also maintains an active pro bono docket and commitment to his community. He has represented pro bono clients in cases involving contract disputes, family law issues, disability claims, and asylum. Chris is also active in the Austin Bar Association’s committee for Habitat for Humanity.

  • Represented an international biofuels seller in a multi-million dollar contract dispute.
  • Represented a major satellite provider in an arbitration against a broadcaster regarding $20 million in retransmission consent rights.
  • Represented a leading retailer in a putative nationwide consumer class action alleging deceptive trade practices.
  • Represented an internet marketing company in trade secrets actions against former employees.
  • Represented a national retailer in a lease and toxic tort dispute relating to soil and ground water contamination.
  • Defended a national paper company in a multi-million dollar toxic tort putative class action by property owners for alleged pollution.
  • Represented a leading computer seller in state and nationwide warranty-related class action proceedings.
  • Represented an insurance broker in a multi-week arbitration concerning the payment of insurance commissions and allocation of class action settlement costs.
  • Represented a business owner in a million-dollar commercial lease dispute.
