• structured capital transactions such as joint ventures and forward funded / fund through transactions
• major Government projects including those in and around significant transport infrastructure
• land acquisitions strategies for resources and renewables sector
• agribusiness transactions

I am passionate about the real estate industry and am dedicated to remaining curious and innovative in my practice. I am particularly interested in upcoming industry developments such as build to rent, land lease and vertical industrial warehousing asset classes as well as the impact of technology and AI.

Career highlights

• Urban renewal of former Melbourne Docklands (Development Victoria – Victorian State Government): Long term adviser to Development Victoria on the Docklands development project (~3km2). This project involves the urban renewal of the Docklands precinct (neighbouring suburb to the west of Melbourne CBD) to create a second CBD.
• Melbourne Metro over-station development, Town Hall Station (Lendlease): Advised on the commercial development over the to-be-constructed Town Hall Metro Station being a key CBD corner retail and office development opposite from the landmark Flinders Street Train Station. Project value >A$300m.
• InterContinental Hotel, Sorrento (Family office JV): Advised a consortium of family offices on the acquisition and re-development of an InterContinental Hotel in Sorrento, Victoria, a hospitality precinct including hotel, wellness retreat and restaurant offerings (project value ~$150m).
• Moonee Valley Racecourse redevelopment (Moonee Valley Racing Club): Advised the Club on its development of excess land into a mixed use precinct integrated with the racecourse as well as the redevelopment of its racecourse and grandstand.
• Airspace over The Glen Shopping Centre (Vicinity): Advised on the development of The Glen Shopping Centre which created a podium freehold lot above an existing shopping centre for the construction of three residential towers. Unlocked A$60m of otherwise unused airspace.
• Build to Rent and land lease: Advising institutional clients and family offices on their entry into build to rent and land lease businesses.

• Frasers Property Australia: Advised on capital partnerships of residential development projects:
  
  • The Grove Estate (30km west of Melbourne) – capital partner entry value ~A$70m.
  • Yarraville (10km west of Melbourne) – capital partner entry value >A$100m.
• JPMorgan: Establishment of A$1bn logistics portfolio joint venture.
• Stockland: Advised on the capital partnerships of industrial and residential development projects:
  
  • 260 hectare logistics and business park in Truganina, Victoria (25km west of Melbourne). Anticipated value when complete >A$2bn.
  • the introduction of a Thai foreign investor (~A$100m) into a residential development project in Donnybrook, Victoria (45km north of Melbourne) (>1,500 lots).

• Ascendas (CapitaLand): Acquisition of logistics property portfolio in Australia (A$1bn) being the biggest industrial transaction in Australia at that time.
• Ascott-CapitaLand: Acquisition of forward funded accommodation asset in Sydney (>A$150m).
• Frasers Property Australia: Acquisition of going concern residential development project (>A$200m)
• Frasers Centrepoint Limited: Seeded Australian hotel assets into S-REIT IPO (A$340m).
• Select Harvest Limited: Acquisitions of multiple significant almond orchards in Victoria and South Australia (>A$100m each)
• Coomboona Dairies: Distressed sale of dairy farm and assets (~A$50m)
