Profile
Davidson is a Partner in the firm and has been regularly involved in arbitration and mediation both locally and internationally. He advises domestic and international Clients on diverse commercial issues. As a member of the Dispute Resolution team, he appears in courts of superior record in matters involving clients in the aviation, tobacco, telecommunications, banking and finance, capital markets, labour and employment, oil & gas and construction industries.
As a key member of the Firm's intellectual property department, Davidson handles numerous trademarks registrations, copyright infringements and opposition proceedings on behalf of Clients. He equally advises on franchise agreements/NOTAP registration, anti-counterfeiting and parallel imports issues in Nigeria.
His regulatory advisory work includes the provision of legal support to technical advisory groups funded by American and British Donor agencies that are aimed at providing high-level support to Federal and State Government agencies on their Public Private Partnership (PPP) programmes.
Davidson also regularly advises companies on compliance with corporate, statutory and regulatory matters as well as corporate governance issues. He advises on business start-up, labour & employment, corporate due diligence, corporate restructuring and winding up. He advises foreign investors seeking to establish entities in Free Trade Zone and also advises various multinationals on the framework for foreign direct and portfolio investments in Nigeria. As a Lead Adviser to several multinationals, he assists their businesses in procuring business permits, expatriate quotas, temporary work permits and other immigration formalities that are required for doing business in Nigeria.
