Profile
Emilia Rebetez is counsel within the tax department of Walder Wyss. She practices in the field of personal and corporate taxation in domestic and international tax matters.
Emilia Rebetez advises corporate clients, particularly in the field of financing, national and international reorganisations, real estate transactions, cross-border relations as well as M&A and private equity transactions. She also assists private clients, notably in the scope of their relocation, asset reorganisation, estate planning, real estate transactions, or in the context of tax ruling negotiations with the Swiss tax authorities. She further has extensive experience advising foundations, charities or financial institutions in tax matters occurring in the frame of their activities.
She is a member of the Geneva Bar Association, the Certified Tax Expert Association and the International Tax Association.
Emilia Rebetez was educated at the Universities of Geneva (BLaw) and Fribourg (MLaw 2014), as well as at the Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien and Akademie der Steuerberater und Wirtschaftsprüfer (LL.M. 2021), where she graduated with honors. During her studies, she gained working experience as a trainee at the public prosecutor office in Neuchâtel and spent a semester at the University of Glasgow. She was admitted to the bar in 2016 and graduated as certified tax expert in 2019. Emilia Rebetez worked as a senior associate in a leading Swiss law firm prior to joining Walder Wyss in 2021. She has a keen interest in teaching, and had the opportunity to lecture on relevant topics of Swiss and international taxation.
Emilia Rebetez's professional languages are French and English. She also speaks German. She is registered with the Geneva Bar Registry and admitted to practice in all of Switzerland.
