Hyun Jin’s practice includes the development, financing and acquisition of energy and infrastructure projects, as well as other cross-border commercial transactions in the Asia-Pacific region.

Hyun Jin focuses on energy and infrastructure project development and finance, international acquisitions, cross-border investments, joint ventures and other cross-border commercial transactions in the Asia-Pacific region. She is admitted to practice in New York.

Prior to joining the firm, Hyun Jin served as a foreign attorney in the corporate and M&A practice group of Bae, Kim & Lee LLC in Seoul, South Korea. There, she advised clients in connection with a wide variety of general corporate and transactional matters, including cross-border mergers and acquisitions, foreign investments and private equity investments.

Relevant Experience

  • Represented a Delaware holding subsidiary of the largest coal producer and distributor in Thailand on all stockholder, equity contribution and related documentation to corporatize its multi-million dollar portfolio of upstream and midstream oil and gas assets in North America.
  • Represented Thai Stock Exchange-listed and the country’s first independent power producer, Electricity Generating Public Co., Ltd. (EGCO), on all aspects of its multimillion dollar, cross-border acquisition of a 25% ownership interest in the 640 MW Yunlin Offshore Wind Power Farm, currently under project finance and construction off the coast of Yunlin County, Taiwan ROC.
  • Advised a regional development bank in Asia as lender’s counsel for the financing of a 10 MW wind power facility with an integrated 1.4 MWh battery energy storage system in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, Thailand. The main finance documents were recently signed in May 2020, making this project the first integrated wind power and energy storage system in Thailand.
