Iain is a partner in our Banking and Finance team and is a highly regarded finance practitioner, well known for his collaborative approach to negotiation. He specialises in advising lenders and borrowers on all aspects of banking work including Corporate and Commercial Banking ,Property Finance, Islamic Finance, Debt and Capital Markets and Securitisation. Iain has acted on some of the most high profile transactions of recent years including both of the transactions lauded as "monster UK hotel portfolio sales" and in the Loan Book Trading space, on the multibillion pound acquisition of a global commercial real estate business by an international bank - hailed as the largest real estate transaction since the financial crisis.

Iain previously worked with the finance and capital markets division at a 'Magic Circle' law firm and prior to coming to Shepherd and Wedderburn held the position of Vice President legal with Barclays Bank working between Glasgow and London.
