James is an associate in the banking and finance team of Carey Olsen's corporate practice, based in Jersey. He assists with a range of corporate, banking and finance matters.

James joined Carey Olsen in October 2023 after qualifying as a solicitor in Scotland. He undertook his traineeship with Pinsent Masons LLP in Aberdeen. He previously worked for Hengtai Law Offices, Shanghai in 2019, focusing on joint venture and practice development matters. 

James obtained his LLB (Honours) and Diploma in Professional Legal Practice from the University of Aberdeen.
