Profile

Jill Hayman is a member of the firm’s real estate development and finance practice and head of the New York leasing platform. She brings more than 35 years of experience in executing sophisticated real estate transactions.

Jill represents real estate owners, developers and tenants in connection with office and retail leases, data center leases and colocation agreements, corporate relocations, construction contracts and real estate acquisitions and dispositions and related government incentive programs. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Hayman was a managing director in the legal department of Morgan Stanley where she was responsible for the global legal coverage of the firm’s corporate real estate portfolio comprised of over 1,000 retail locations and over 40 HQ locations, which included acquisitions and sales, leasing, design and construction, facility management matters, as well as coverage of the real estate aspects of mergers and acquisitions. Her international experience includes the development and leasing of large HQ premises and data centers in Hungary, Japan, Hong Kong, London and Glasgow.

Ms. Hayman was awarded the 2015 Chambers Women in Law Outstanding Achievement Award (In-House). She teaches a course on real estate drafting as an adjunct professor at Fordham Law School.

  • Represented a not-for-profit client in acquisition of a 500,000 rentable square feet leasehold condominium unit.
  • Represented clients in complex construction contracts.
  • Represented client in a 1.3 million rentable square feet lease at a major office building in downtown New York City.
  • Represented client in an $80 million incentive package from New York City and State for relocation of jobs from New Jersey.
  • Represented client in 750,000 rentable square feet sale lease back on Canary Wharf, London.
  • Represented client in acquisition of a 580,000 rentable square feet building in midtown Manhattan.
  • Represented client in 430,000 rentable square feet law office tenant buy out at major midtown office building in Manhattan.
  • Represented client in development and lease of a 400,000 rentable square feet building in Kowloon, China.
  • Represented client in lease of a 330,000 rentable square feet data center facility in New York City.
  • Represented client in purchase, design and construction of a 400,000 rentable square feet data center in New Jersey.
  • Represented client in conveyance of a 50,000 rentable square feet retail condo unit in midtown Manhattan.
  • Managed the acquisition and integration of a retail portfolio of over 600 locations.
