Guiding families and closely held businesses on estate planning

John Lhost counseled families and closely held businesses on estate planning and trust administration, planning for ownership and transfers of interests, and planning for the acquisition, sale, development and preservation of real estate. His experience included:

  • Serving as trustee of trusts benefiting clients’ families.
  • Intergenerational planning for interests in family-owned businesses.
  • Assisting fiduciaries and beneficiaries with fiduciary tax and accounting issues in connection with the administration of estates and trusts.
  • Planning for the retention and preservation of tracts of family-owned land and environmentally significant land, including representation of and former service on the governing bodies of several nonprofit land trusts.

John was coordinator of the Estate, Trust & Wealth Preservation Group in the Milwaukee office.
