John focuses his practice on counseling emerging technology companies, bringing a unique blend of transactional and litigation experience in order to add deep value to his clients. His litigation experience provides for a strong sense of risk-management, with experience representing clients in disputes involving corporate veil-piercing, fiduciary duty, breach of contract, and securities fraud. This litigation experience has supplemented John’s forward-looking transactional practice, with experience including counseling companies through Series Seed and A fundraising rounds (both fund and portfolio side), corporate formation and restructuring, cap table management, and commercial contract drafting and negotiation.

Within the emerging technology sector, John also has a specific focus serving space industry clients. His direct experience in the industry includes general corporate counseling, drafting launch contracts, preparing FAA Part 450 license application materials, and counseling clients on regulatory compliance. Outside of his practice, John serves as a Mentor for Techstars Space Accelerator and as an Adjunct Professor at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law – Introduction to Space Law.

During law school, John served as an intern in U.S. District Court and was awarded the Norman Lefstein Award of Excellence for providing 200+ pro bono hours to the legal community. His Indiana Law Review Student Note, Emerging Technologies and Lagging Laws: Article 12 and the UCC’s Attempt to Commercially Incorporate the Rapidly Changing World of Digital Assets, was published in Volume 56 No. 2 alongside distinguished authors such as Chief Judge Diane Sykes of the Seventh Circuit and former U.S. Senator and Indiana Governor Evan Bayh.
