Jorge Moreno, Associate at BLP Tegucigalpa, specializes in Tax and Customs Law. BLP advised HELVETAS SWISS INTERCOOPERATION and FUNDACION HELVETAS during their merger in Honduras. BLP advised and carried out this merger and, after analyzing it with the tax team, created a tax strategy for the merger conducted in 2020 due to Covid-19.
BLP advised SCATEC a leading company in the production of clean energy. BLP advised on sales tax exemption.
BLP advised PRODERSA, a solar energy company created to build, operate, and own the NACAOME 2 solar power plant. The BLP team designed a strategy to acquire tax-free goods and services, receiving an exemption at the end of the fiscal period.
Vestas Honduras is in the process with the Central Bank of Honduras to reauthorize new export declarations. BLP planned a strategy to request an adjustment to the total value declared for exports made. BLP advised the client throughout the process in determining the scope of the problem, strategy planning, strategy execution, and completion of the process. BLP continues to advise the client on tax issues.
BLP advised Chiquita Honduras Company on all tax issues arising from its agricultural operations in Honduras, ensuring compliance with its tax obligations and guaranteeing the enjoyment of all exemptions and exonerations provided for by law.
