Jose Quinones is a Founding Partner at QIL+4 Abogados. He has extensive local and international experience in Compliance, Tax, M&A and Banking matters. He is frequently engaged in providing strategic advice on business transactions and compliance matters and advises foreign financial institutions in structured finance deals, sovereign bond offerings in international capital markets, cross-border transactions and its tax implications, as well as mergers and acquisitions and complex project finance deals involving local and foreign banks and financial institutions and/or borrowers.

Education

He obtained a law degree at Universidad Rafael Landívar in Guatemala in 1992 , and a Master degree in Business Administration and Corporate Finance at the Simon School of Business of the University of Rochester, USA in 1995 .

Co-founder at Quiñones, Ibargüen, Luján & Mata, S.C. (QIL) Extensive experience in M&A, Tax Structures, Securities, Distribution law. Frequently involved in litigation strategy & crisis management. He is a Designee Arbitrator for the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). He has also served as director for several financial and industrial institutions, the Center for Corporate Social Responsibility, the Guatemalan Branch of the Association Internationale De Droit Des Assurances (AIDA). He has taught financial and commercial contracts, and is frequently invited as speaker on various international forums.
