Katherine’s practice focuses on commercial litigation in both federal and state court.

Katherine is a commercial trial attorney who focuses on obtaining efficient and practical results for clients across various industries, including the construction, real estate, banking, fiduciary, corporate, and medical industries. She approaches a case with a real-world eye and partners with clients in an effort to obtain exceptional results that honor and respect a client’s business or personal goals.

Katherine represents financial institutions, corporations, trustees, corporate executives, medical professionals, and other organizations in a wide range of litigation matters, including cases involving breaches of contract, breaches of fiduciary duty, trade secrets violations, fraud, qui tam and False Claims Act violations, anti-kickback violations, employment disputes, Freedom of Information Act (“FOIA”) disputes, consumer protection violations, and oil and gas disputes.

Katherine earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism, with highest honors, from The University of Texas at Austin. She worked as a journalist in Austin, Texas before attending law school at The University of Texas at Austin. Katherine earned her law degree in 2015, graduating with honors. During law school, Katherine interned for Judge Tom Price on the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, worked as a student attorney for The University of Texas School of Law’s Actual Innocence Clinic, and worked for legal non-profit organizations. She also served as an Associate Editor on the Review of Litigation.

Katherine is also on the Dallas office’s Pro Bono Committee and maintains an active pro bono practice. While she represents a variety of pro bono clients, she is drawn to cases that impact children, including child custody disputes and child abduction cases under The Hague Convention.

  • Represented owner/buyer of mixed-use commercial real estate property and served on trial team in securing jury verdict in its favor
  • Obtained permanent injunction for defrauded community bank
  • Secured judgment in federal bench trial for client who sought the return of his children under the Hague Convention; judgment was affirmed by Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals after briefing and oral argument
  • Obtained favorable settlement for corporate client in ERISA dispute
  • Successfully defended medical doctor in multi-million-dollar qui tam/False Claims lawsuit
  • Prosecuted FOIA requests on behalf of corporate client
  • Successfully defended commercial printer in trade secret and business disparagement lawsuit
  • Secured trust modifications for large medical foundation
  • Obtained favorable settlement for trust beneficiaries who sought a tax refund from the IRS
  • Counseled independent administrator in probate dispute
  • Counseled on a variety of consumer protection issues
  • Counseled fiduciaries on various trust and estate issues
  • Counseled on oil and gas matters, including briefing before the Supreme Court of Texas
  • Secured favorable outcomes in multiple pro bono court proceedings; first chair
