Katie practices in the area of capital finance and real estate.
Katie focuses on commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions, construction and real estate finance, real estate development and leasing, and loan workouts and restructuring. Her experience includes single and multi-property transactions with a wide variety of real estate assets, including office parks and buildings, hotels and multi-family apartment complexes.
Her pro bono work includes volunteering for Street Law, and serving as a pro bono lawyer for Sanctuary for Families, a New York City-based nonprofit dedicated to aiding domestic violence victims and their children.
Relevant Experience
- Represented a large institutional lender in connection with the origination of a $470 million loan comprised of a $370 million mortgage loan and two mezzanine loans totaling $100 million secured by an office building located in Los Angeles, California
- Represented two large institutional lenders in connection with the origination of a $115 million mortgage loan secured by two hotels located in Atlanta, Georgia and Anchorage Alaska.
- Represented a major insurance company in connection with the origination of several mortgage loans secured by properties located throughout Mexico including: (1) a $470 million mortgage loan secured by a portfolio of 44 industrial facilities, (2) a $210 million mortgage loan secured by a portfolio of 50 industrial facilities, (3) a $150 million mortgage loan secured by a portfolio of 48 industrial facilities, (4) a $150 million mortgage loan secured by a portfolio of 51 industrial facilities, and (5) a $118 million mortgage loan secured by a portfolio of 18 industrial facilities.
- Represented ASRR 8955 LLC, an affiliate of Israel-based ASRR Capital LTD, in connection with a $90 million construction loan that will fund the development of ultra-luxury condos in Surfside, Florida.
- Represented DTH Capital Inc. in connection with the sale of 63 and 67 Wall Street. The properties represent two of the largest Wall Street residential conversions in history, comprise an entire block of Downtown Manhattan and consist of over 800 residential rental apartments.
- Represented a major insurance company in connection with a $75 million preferred equity investment in an entity which owns a portion of a skyscraper in Chicago, Illinois.
- Represented a large institutional lender in connection with the origination of a $75 million mortgage loan secured by a casino and office building located in Cleveland, Ohio.
- Represented two large institutional lenders in connection with the origination of a $200 million mortgage loan secured by a resort and conference center located in California.
- Represented Savanna in connection with the $96 million acquisition of 525 West 122nd Street in Morningside Heights, Manhattan and origination of mortgage and mezzanine financing to renovate and develop the property into a 250,000 square foot condominium building.
- Represented a large institutional lender in connection with the origination of a $120 million mortgage loan secured by an office building in Charlotte, North Carolina.
- Represented a major insurance company in connection with the origination of a $76.5 million mortgage loan secured by a shopping center located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
- Represented Vanbarton Group in the $133 million acquisition of Riverdale Crossing, a 159,037 square-foot shopping center in the Bronx.
- Represented a large institutional lender in connection with the origination of a $145 million mortgage loan secured by a portfolio of 32 mobile home parks located in Colorado, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas and Wyoming.
- Represented Cadence Property Group in connection with the origination of a $24.65 million construction loan to renovate and develop the former Radio City Post Office into a new luxury condominium building called The Sorting House. This unique development includes the construction of two additional floors as well as the redesign of the third floor, while the historic 1930’s Radio City Post Office will remain active on the first two floors.
- Represented Vanbarton Group, LLC in the $76 million acquisition and financing of 33 Caton Place in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn. The property, an eight-story luxury rental building known as The Kestrel, is just steps from Prospect Park.
- Represented Chatham Lodging Trust in the acquisition of a 51-hotel, 6,848-room portfolio from a joint venture in two separate transactions for a combined total purchase price of $1.3 billion.
