Kelly Houk is a senior attorney in the Product Liability Group in Dykema’s Bloomfield Hills office. Her clients include manufacturers of automobiles, elevators, escalators, furnaces, and firearms. She defends a variety of products and premises in asbestos litigation. Ms. Houk also represents companies and employee drivers in auto-negligence cases. Her trial experience goes beyond product liability cases. She has tried bankruptcy, breach of contract, and trade secret misappropriation matters. In 2014, she was part of a trial team that obtained a successful jury verdict in a trade secret misappropriation case pending in the Eastern District of Michigan. Ms. Houk also has experience with medical malpractice matters.

Ms. Houk graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law (UDM), where she achieved recognition in legal writing, administrative law, and franchising law. She was a Title Editor on UDM's Law Review and was inducted into the Frank Murphy Honor Society, for graduating in the top 10% of her class. In 2019, Ms. Houk was the recipient of UDM’s Rising Star Award. Ms. Houk serves on the Board of Directors of both the Detroit Mercy Law and Albion College Alumni Associations.

At UDM, Ms. Houk was enrolled in the Veterans Law Clinic. Through her affiliation with that clinic, she was able to help military veterans with their disability claims. She also traveled with Project SALUTE to New Orleans, Louisiana to reach out to veterans at a local VFW hall.
