Laurence “Larry” I. Blair is a partner at Greenspoon Marder. Mr. Blair is one of a select group of lawyers certified by The Florida Bar as a specialist in Wills, Trusts & Estates Law, which is the highest such rating of an attorney’s special knowledge, skills, and proficiency in a specific area of law and for professionalism and ethics in practice in the state of Florida.
Mr. Blair concentrates his practice in the areas of estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax planning with an emphasis on representing families and entrepreneurs in multiple-generation wealth transfer and asset protection planning. He also represents clients with business succession planning needs, including shareholders’ agreements, buy-sell and cross purchase agreements, and business transactions, including purchases and sales of businesses. In particular, he addresses the needs of those clients of the firm whose business endeavors must be structured to assist in maximizing opportunities to transfer wealth to later generations. He is also engaged in assisting clients through the process of administering trusts and estates. Larry counsels clients on charitable giving, insurance planning, prenuptial and postnuptial planning, probate, trust and guardianship administration. In addition, he represents clients in beneficiary representation cases, will and trust contests and fiduciary litigation.
A well-known community leader, Mr. Blair is involved in the community and serves on the governing boards for a variety of local organizations. He helps structure gifts to charities that provide benefits to both donors and the organizations.
Mr. Blair’s experience serving as a member to various boards of directors, finance committees, treasurer of a not-for-profit corporation, service as personal representative and trustee and as a facilitator for family meetings have enabled him to serve as a family advisor to a variety of families.
