Léone joined Van Doorne in 2020 as partner and head of the energy regulatory practice, after 14 years with Loyens & Loeff. Léone co-heads the Energy, Industry & Renewables team, together with Diederik Maessen. Léone is one of the leading regulatory energy lawyers in the Netherlands, for regulatory energy matters, energy litigation and complex energy contracts. She has over 17 years of experience in assisting her clients on matters regarding heat, electricity, CO2, oil & gas, LNG, renewable fuels and hydrogen.

Léone advises network operators, supply and production companies in the regulated sector and companies in the chemical and industrial sectors, as well as governments. She therefore has broad experience in resolving problems in the field of regulated (heat, electricity, drinking water and gas) and non-regulated (CO2, fuels, hydrogen) utilities. Her practice includes negotiating and drafting specific energy market related agreements; providing legal advice with regard to energy laws and regulations (both current and proposed/draft); and conducting legal proceedings.

Alongside her legal practice, Léone is guest lecturer on the Dutch regulatory and legal aspects of electricity and natural gas at Climate Change and Energy Transition at the VU Law Academy (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam).

Léone frequently publishes in legal journals and online knowledge portals on subjects in the field of renewable energy. She obtained her law degree at the Erasmus University Rotterdam.
