Lisa Melis is an Executive at ENS in the Banking and Finance practice.

Lisa started her career in the field of insolvency, business rescue, debt recovery and distressed restructuring, where her practice consisted of both advisory work and litigation. She has extensive experience in distressed restructuring including informal turnarounds, business rescue, security enforcement and insolvency.

Her current practice consists of distressed advisory work as well as non-distressed transactional funding work, including debt and preference share funding and related security structures. She also provides regulatory advice to clients in the financial services sector.

Lisa acts for funders (including local and international banks and institutional investors), borrowers and issuers (listed and unlisted), business rescue practitioners and regulated financial sector participants.

Lisa is a member of various Associations which include Turnaround Management Association of South Africa (TMA), South African Restructuring and Insolvency Practitioners Association (SARIPA) and IWIRC South Africa (International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation).
