Profile
In my professional practice, I have had the opportunity to develop in different areas of Law. However, for more than six years I have been focused on Intellectual Property matters from different positions.
Currently, as an associate in the firm, I am focused in the development of protection strategies of intellectual property rights, specifically in the field of trademarks, in the legal advice concerning the international registration of trademarks under on the Madrid Protocol, as well as in consultancy regarding the registration of domain names and protection of copyright, traditional knowledge and trade secrets. I also participate in the development of due diligences derived from mergers and acquisitions projects of national and international companies.
In the Divisional Directorate of Legal Affairs of the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property, my functions were focused of the legal defense of the Institute before different authorities. At the International Affairs Division, I collaborated with the World Intellectual Property Organization to carry out different projects in conjunction with the IMPI, including cooperation activities with the Arbitration and Mediation Center of WIPO. I also served as a representative of Mexico before various international forums and organizations on intellectual property issues, such as the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office. Likewise, I participated in the review and negotiation processes of the intellectual property chapters of different international instruments such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership Treaty (TPP), the Pacific Alliance and the Mexico-Jordan Free Trade Agreement, among others.
