Profile
Matthew’s practice focuses on antitrust and commercial litigation and antitrust regulation.
Matthew is an associate in the competition practice group in Washington where he focuses his practice on a variety of competition and antitrust matters including litigation, government investigations, and counseling.
Prior to joining Hunton & Williams LLP, Matthew served as a law clerk to the Honorable Ted Stewart of the US District Court for the District of Utah. While in law school, he worked as a law clerk at the FTC in the Bureau of Competition and in the office of Commissioner Maureen K. Ohlhausen.
Matthew is also a regular contributor to the firm's Retail Industry Blog, commenting on topics related to Competition/Antitrust and Consumer Protection.
Relevant Experience
- Defending major energy company in multi-state investigations and litigation alleging fraud, unjust enrichment, and false claims.
- Defending health insurer in multidistrict litigation alleging antitrust violations under Sections 1 and 2 of the Sherman Act.
- Representing national home improvement retailer as a third-party in FTC and DOJ antitrust investigations.
- Providing counseling and antitrust analysis of strategic mergers and acquisitions.
