Mike's practice focuses on complex civil litigation with an emphasis on antitrust class actions.

Over the course of his career, Mike has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of civil litigation in cases involving antitrust, RICO, breach of contract, civil fraud, electric utility regulation, franchise termination, FDA drug approval, tax, trademark infringement and unfair competition. Experienced in all aspects of federal court litigation, including multidistrict litigation practice, Mike has argued cases in the U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeals and served as both first and second chair in trials in federal district courts. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeals for the District of Columbia and Fourth Circuits, and the U.S. District Courts for the districts of Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Relevant Experience

  • Represented a large regional supermarket chain in a multi-party MDL antitrust class action;
  • Represented a hospital system plaintiff in a successful antitrust class action and supervised the distribution of $200 million to more than 20,000 class claimants;
  • Represented a regional natural gas distribution company in a successful claim involving breach of a natural gas supply contract;
  • Successfully defended a food products company from a false advertising claim under the Lanham Act.
