Michael develops strategic ways to address clients’ business challenges.

Prior to joining the firm as special counsel, Michael served for more than 13 years as executive vice president, general counsel and general secretary for Delhaize Group — the Belgian-based operator of food retail stores in eight countries on three continents. During his tenure, he served on the company’s Executive Committee and as president director of Lion Super Indo, the company’s Indonesian subsidiary. Over the course of his 34-year career, he has lived and worked in the United States, Russia, London, Belgium and Indonesia.

Before embarking on a 20-year stint as an energy sector business lawyer, he served as a judicial clerk with the Hon. Robert O’Conor Jr., Southern District of Texas.

Michael is admitted to practice before the US Supreme Court and US Courts of Appeals for the Fifth, Tenth and Eleventh Circuits.
