Profile

Nate Viebrock counsels clients on offering best-in-class financial products and services that comply with state and federal regulations. Nate relies upon his extensive regulatory background and career of diverse legal experiences, both in the public and private sector, to help clients navigate the complex regulatory landscape.

Prior to joining Bradley, Nate served as product and regulatory counsel for nationally acclaimed and publicly traded fintech companies and worked at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) as an enforcement attorney and outreach associate. He leverages this experience to identify creative and compliant solutions for consumer financial services companies, ranging from startups to established fintech clients.

Nate advises clients on the development of innovative products and services in the residential mortgage, lead generation, auto finance, solar finance, and fintech industries. He regularly advises clients on matters involving compliance obligations under state and federal statutes and regulations, such as the UDAAP, Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), and Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA).

As regulatory counsel to a financial technology company, Nate addressed a wide range of compliance issues involving marketing and loan origination, marketplace lending, broker-dealer and investment advisory services, state licensing, usury, data security, and bank partnership lending models. He has also advised clients on state licensing strategies that allow for those clients to enter new markets and offer new products. He has extensive experience working with fintech companies that partner with banks and credit unions and has worked with state regulators to counsel clients through examinations and regulatory inquiries.

Nate has also participated in high-stakes internal investigations and counseled clients through the duration of state and federal government examinations, investigations, and enforcement actions. He has counseled individuals and companies on all stages of the process, including interacting with prosecutors and regulators, from criminal arrest to post-conviction relief and from civil investigation to trial preparation and settlement.

Nate is passionate about serving his community through legal advocacy and frequently represents indigent individuals in need of legal services. Prior to entering private practice, his career in public service included a clerkship in Chicago at the Cook County Public Defender’s Office and employment at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in Washington, D.C.
