Nick has represented clients in significant environmental rulemakings and defended against aggressive enforcement actions. He routinely helps clients navigate through the complex federal and state permitting processes for large development projects and advocates for clients in any related litigation.     

Nick focuses on issues arising under the major federal and state environmental statutes with an emphasis on compliance, regulatory and policy developments, enforcement and litigation. In addition to regularly advising clients on Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act compliance, Nick also has experience counseling clients on issues related to the National Environmental Policy Act, National Historic Preservation Act and Endangered Species Act. He has also helped negotiate settlement with EPA and DOJ under environmental statutes. His clients include electric utilities, energy producers and distributors, and natural resource companies.
