I have successfully resolved a variety of commercial and civil claims and administrative law disputes for media entities, government departments and statutory authorities, insurers and large corporations in matters which require an appreciation of complex legal issues, and the commercial and reputational drivers behind a dispute.

Career highlights

• Acting for and advising Victorian and Commonwealth government in a range of risk management and litigation issues, including administrative law and judicial review matters on behalf of departments, agencies and regulators. I regularly advise these government authorities on a variety of liability matters, and public and administrative law issues concerning the scope of their powers and functions, issues relating to statutory construction and interpretation, and acting in merits and judicial review proceedings in both courts and tribunals across Australia.
• Representing and advising Australia's largest media entities, corporate bodies and publicly listed companies in media and consumer law disputes, including in high profile defamation and contempt litigation, and providing advice on pre-publication and reputational risk issues.
• Representing and advising various insurers and financial institutions in corporate risk management and insurance litigation issues and tort based claims.
• Advising and appearing in a range of regulatory enforcement proceedings and disputes on behalf of regulatory authorities and disciplinary bodies across various Australian States and Territories, including in high profile sports integrity matters.
• Working with government departments and agencies to represent their interests in high profile Royal Commissions, public inquiries and inquests.
