Profile

Garner Vance is an associate in the firm’s Construction and Litigation practice groups.

Before joining Bradley, Garner worked in both Mississippi federal district courts. In law school, he worked as an extern for the Hon. Michael P. Mills on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi. And after graduation, he clerked for the Hon. Kristi H. Johnson on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi.

Garner earned his J.D. (summa cum laude) from the University of Mississippi School of Law, where he served as executive articles editor for the Mississippi Law Journal. He also served as vice chair of the Moot Court Board, earning an Outstanding Oral Advocate award at the 2023 Duberstein Bankruptcy Competition — a national competition held each year in New York City. His peers on the board voted him 2023 Member of the Year. Garner earned the Outstanding Student Award (top grade) in Property Law, Federal Income Tax, Civil Procedure, and Bankruptcy. His efforts in class and scholarship on Bankruptcy Law earned him a nomination for the American College of Bankruptcy’s Fifth Circuit Distinguished Law Student Award. He was also one of six students inducted into the National Order of Scribes — an honor given for outstanding legal writing while in law school.

Garner has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering (cum laude) from the University of Mississippi. Prior to law school, he worked for three years as a process engineer at the paper mill in his hometown, where he helped turn pine trees into newsprint.
