Rebecca Fortune is a Shareholder and Co-Chair of the Litigation Practice Group in the Firm’s San Diego office. Ms. Fortune is an experienced trial attorney focusing her practice on the representation of individual and entity clients in general civil litigation with an emphasis in real estate, business, and probate litigation.  Representative matters include corporate and partnership disputes, unfair competition claims, business contract disputes, real estate transfer and non-disclosure actions, state and federal fair housing and discrimination claims, commercial lease disputes, commercial and residential easement/boundary disputes, commercial and residential common interest association disputes, trust and elder abuse litigation.

Ms. Fortune’s strong record of favorable outcomes is derivative of her efficient and effective use of technology during discovery and at trial, as well as her superior focus in all aspects of the litigation process. When awarding attorney’s fees after a heavily litigated multi-party business trial, San Diego Superior Court Judge Timothy Taylor commented, “Rarely has the court encountered an attorney with her focus and effectiveness, particularly in the use of trial presentation technology…By the court’s own observation, her methods clearly enhanced the jury’s ability to grasp the details of a complex real estate and business transaction.”

In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Fortune has served as judge and commentator at trial advocacy seminars hosted by the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, and works to educate civil litigators in the use of technology before and during trial as a practical way to reduce costs and improve presentation effectiveness.
