Robert P. Wessely is a partner and chair of the Corporate & Business practice group at Greenspoon Marder LLP. Mr. Wessely focuses his practice on international and domestic corporate transactions, including strategic and structural advice regarding mergers and acquisitions, private equity, joint ventures, financing, restructuring, cross-border trade and licensing transactions. He also advises senior international executives on their employment and compensation packages. Additionally, Mr. Wessely has substantial real estate experience, particularly for foreign investors, as well as experience in media and entertainment and related corporate and intellectual property matters.
Mr. Wessely’s practice extends to a variety of industries, ranging from financial institutions (including M&A for broker/dealers, offshore funds and other investment vehicles) to air transport, hospitality, software licensing and distribution, manufacturing, media (radio, publishing and film), architecture and construction law, as well as oil and gas.
He has advised broker dealers on their blockchain and cryptocurrency investments, and has represented operating companies in the international distribution of cannabis products.
He previously served at the U.S. Department of State with the National Security Council Interagency Task Force on the Law of the Sea.
