Roger’s practice focuses on banking, finance and restructuring.

Roger is a partner based in the London office and heads up the banking, finance and restructuring practice in London. He has over twenty five years experience of a wide range of financing transactions for both lenders and borrowers with particular emphasis on investment and non-investment grade syndicated financings, project financings, acquisition financings and real estate financings. He also has extensive experience of financial restructurings, work outs and related insolvency advice.

In addition to experience in the European markets, Roger has extensive experience of the Asian markets having been based in the Singapore office of his former firm for over ten years.

Prior to joining the firm in 2008, Roger was a Partner in the Finance Department of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London and prior to that was based in that firm’s Singapore office.

  • Advising the lenders on the project financing of a power plant in Belgium
  • Advising the lenders on the restructuring of a waste to energy project in the UK
  • Advising the sponsors on the financing of a European wind farm project
  • Advising various financial institutions on the provision of investment grade and non-investment grade financing facilities to various European and Asian corporate entities
  • Advising a multi lateral development bank on numerous African trade and project facilities
  • Acting for the financiers on the funding of the acquisition of numerous European property portfolios
  • Advising a major investor on the restructuring of a special investment vehicle
  • Advising on the sale of an IT related entity via a pre-packaged receivership
  • Advising various creditors on issues relating to the administration of Lehmans and Nortel
  • Advising borrowers on multi tiered syndicated facilities both secured and unsecured
  • Acting for an investment bank on the funding of a highly leveraged acquisition of a major industrial company
  • Advising the mandated lead arrangers on a major refinancing of a property based portfolio
  • Advising a major international airline on the restructuring of its debts by way of a scheme of arrangement
