Significant Accomplishments
Global life science ingredients distributor Acquires DIVSA in Central America. BLP advised Barentz International on the acquisition of 100% of the shares of Distribuciones Industriales Variadas, S.A. (Divsa) in a significant transaction involving eight jurisdictions (Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, British Virgin Islands, Panama, and Mexico). 
BLP advised Apollo Global Management in Central America. BLP advised Apollo group through Paul Weiss and Morgan Lewison the potential acquisition of Millicom in Central America. BLP´s work consisted of undertaking a regulatory due diligence and assessing the regulatory and antitrust filings, as well as the revision of labor contingencies.
BLP advised Starlink, a SpaceX company, on the launch of advertising and promotions for the new satellite internet service before it entered the Guatemalan market. 
Huntsman Corporation sale of its operation in Guatemala. BLP advised Huntsman Corporation on selling its textile operations in Guatemala as part of a global transaction.  Huntsman Corporation sold its division to Archroma, an SK Capital Partners portfolio company, for S593 million in cash plus assumed pension liabilities.
Grupo Tecún sells its automotive division to Grupo Q in Guatemala. BLP’s advisory included due diligence for the seller, participation in the auction process, and support in the negotiation and preparation of the different agreements signed by the parties.
BLP advised Sonda S.A. a Chilean multinational IT company. BLP advised SONDA of Chile on the constitution of a company in Guatemala to provide lawful service to the Municipality of Guatemala, applying technology for post collection with fare cards of the municipal public transportation of Guatemala. 
BLP advised Ocean Network Express Holdings, Ltd. (ONE) – Japan. BLP advises ONE on all aspects of the deal related to Guatemalan law (corporate, labor, immigration, regulatory, tax) showing BLP capacities in all legal disciplines.
