I advise clients on all aspects of the electricity supply chain from generation, distribution, transmission and retailing. In particular, I specialise in advising electricity industry participants in relation to compliance with the NEL, NER and state-based jurisdictional requirements in South Australia, the Northern Territory, the Australian Capital Territory, Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia.

I also have experience advising on the regulatory requirements relating to other energy and fuel types, as well as corporate governance, general commercial agreements and day to day business activities in the energy industry.

I am a member of the Australian Institute of Energy (AIE) and Energy Supply Association of Australia, and have undertaken a number of secondments to energy and resources entities.

Career highlights

• Advised the Australian Energy Market Operation in relation to the Western Renewables Link Project including preparing the Invitation to Tender, the draft Project Deed, Network Services Agreement and Project Coordination Deed and providing various advices relating to the provisions in the NEL and the NER applying to the Victorian declared transmission network.
• Advising various clients in relation to the NSW and QLD Renewable Energy Zones.
• Advising ZEN Energy in relation to its renewable energy project with the Southern Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils, which involves ZEN Energy retailing electricity to 25 councils with 19 of them opting for 100% renewable energy.
• Advising Epic Energy in relation to the development of 2 largescale commercial rooftop solar and battery installation projects in South Australia.
• Provide advice in relation to the preparation and updating of, and compliance with, licence regulatory obligation compliance registers for various electricity retailers, generators and network businesses.
• Providing comprehensive advice to Discovery Holiday Parks in relation to the regulatory requirements associated with its electricity retail and network activities across all of its holiday parks nationally.
• Undertook a comprehensive analysis for South Australian Government in relation to the of the changes that the National Energy Customer Framework introduced for the regulation of retailers and distributors in the National Electricity Market.
• Provided regulatory advice to the Australian Radioactive Waste Agency in relation to the National Radioactive Waste Management Act 2012.
• Advising Alinta Energy / Flinders Power in relation to the closure of Alinta Energy / Flinders Power coal-fired power generation business in South Australia.
• Undertook 2 secondments with Alinta Energy, one with BHP and one with the Commonwealth Bank.
