Profile
Ms. Fisher works as an Environmental Policy Advisor on the Environmental Team in the Washington, D.C. office providing assistance on a broad range of civil litigation and administrative proceedings brought under environmental laws, particularly the Clean Air Act. Ms. Fisher also has substantial experience working on transactional matters.
Prior to starting at Hunton & Williams in 1990, Ms. Fisher worked as an Intelligence Research Specialist at the Central Intelligence Agency. Ms. Fisher left Hunton & Williams in 1996 to work as an environmental paralegal in the Office of Legal Counsel at Mobil Oil Corporation and then as a Senior Environmental Planner for the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Chesapeake Bay Local Assistance Department before returning to Hunton & Williams in 2000. Ms. Fisher has held a number of positions on various land use committees in Fairfax County, Virginia.
Relevant Experience
- Support attorneys representing companies in federal administrative enforcement actions and in all facets of litigation.
- Trained and supervised a team of paralegals in activities associated with discovery in one of the largest U.S. Environmental Protection Agency enforcement actions brought under the Clean Air Act New Source Review program.
- Serve as staff contact for large joint defense group and as administrator for the group’s client workroom.
- Draft portions of pleadings and coordinate filings in federal district and appellate courts.
- Draft sections of comments submitted in federal agency rulemakings.
- Support attorneys counseling clients on national environmental compliance programs.
- Substantial experience proofreading and cite-checking documents.
- Research federal and state environmental issues.
- Draft advocacy pieces and talking points used in meetings with congressional and federal agency staff.
- Assist attorneys in representing corporations in environmental crimes cases and in conducting internal investigations.
- Manage the closing rooms in transactions involving the privatization of housing at military bases in California, Hawaii, and Virginia.
