Sima is a proactive commercial litigator whose practice focuses on insurance coverage.

Sima has extensive commercial litigation experience, including numerous insurance-related matters. Sima has also represented clients in RMBS litigation matters and worked with loan servicers on class action litigation. In addition to her experience in financial services, class action and insurance coverage litigation, Sima also has experience representing clients in multiple industries in a variety of contract-related actions. Sima also has experience representing pro bono clients in breach of contract, immigration, torts, employment, and military benefits actions.

Relevant Experience

  • Worked as part of team counseling critical infrastructure client on insurance coverage for internationally publicized cyber incident.
  • Advised retail, manufacturing, and financial services clients on cyber insurance claims process for claims arising out of ransomware and cyber extortion events.
  • Represented multinational retail client in its lawsuit seeking insurance coverage for lost business income and expenses incurred as a result of a ransomware attack impacting global operations.
  • Counseled mortgage servicer in residential mortgage-backed securities cases seeking repurchase of loans that breached the originator’s representations and warranties.
  • Counseled mortgage servicer in nationwide TCPA class action and individual TCPA actions; assisted in obtaining favorable class settlement and coordinating litigation strategy for portfolios of class opt-outs.
  • Counseled mortgage servicer in state and nationwide class actions arising from the provision of lender-placed insurance.
  • Counseled mortgage servicer in California invasion of privacy class action and related portfolios of class opt-outs; counsel for client seeking recovery after being affected by ransomware attack.
  • Counseled real estate entities in disputes seeking recovery for breach of commercial lease agreements and other commercial lending agreements.
  • Represented Chinese manufacturer in arbitration commenced before the International Centre for Dispute Resolution for breach of distribution contract.
  • Represented pro bono clients in connection with disputes regarding obtaining disability military benefits, a dispute related to liability for flooding damage, a mediation for wrongful termination, and an application for Special Immigration Visa and related benefits.
