Stefano Grilli is Co-head of the Tax department.



He is Senior Counsel of the Italian Minister of Finance for international tax matters in connection with the Italian Presidency of the G20.

He is member of the Advisory Board of the Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Cooperation Mechanism.

He is Adjunct Professor of International Tax Law at the University of Milan Bicocca. Visiting Professor in International Tax Law at the University of International Business and Economics of Beijing (People’s Republic of China). Lecturer at the Adv. LL.M. Program in International Tax Law of the University of Amsterdam (the Netherlands).

He focuses on the tax aspects of debt capital market and equity capital market transactions (IPOs, asset finance transactions, structured finance products and derivatives). He advises domestic and cross-border industrial groups in corporate taxation, mergers and acquisitions, tax planning, transfer pricing issues and indirect taxes. He also gained an extensive experience in relation to tax litigation issues.

Before joining the Firm in 2011, Stefano worked in a leading Italian tax law firm.

Stefano obtained his Ph.D. on International and European Tax Law from the University of Bergamo; he also obtained a Master degree (Adv. LL.M.) in International Taxation from the International Tax Centre - Leiden University (the Netherlands); he graduated in Economics from the University “Luigi Bocconi” of Milan.

He was admitted to the Association of Chartered Accountant (Ordine dei dottori commercialisti) and to the Association of Certified Auditor (Albo dei Revisori Contabili) in 1997.

He speaks Italian, English and French.
