Profile
Taryn Solomon is a Principal Associate at ENS in the Tax practice. In addition to general tax work, Taryn has a particular interest and specialist expertise in tax dispute resolution work across all tax types. She has advised both public and private large corporate entities, as well as individual clients across numerous industries.
In her practice, Taryn spends most of her time assisting and advising clients in respect of all interactions and correspondence with the South African Revenue Service (SARS). This includes audit queries and, when adverse assessments are issued, the objection and appeal process, including the alternative dispute resolution process. She also advises clients in respect of the related payment matters which arise in any tax dispute, including suspension of payment applications and payment arrangements.
Taryn’s expertise extends to Tax Court work and she has significant experience in drafting Tax Court pleadings and dealing with all pre-trial preparation in Tax Court matters, including briefing counsel and interaction with SARS. She has also represented many clients in settlement discussions with SARS and in drafting and finalising settlement agreements.
