Profile
Willem van der Colff is an Executive at ENS in the Dispute Resolution practice. He specialises and has extensive experience in general, commercial, and criminal litigation, with a focus on dispute resolution, insurance litigation, company law as well as general contractual and delictual matters.
He is regularly involved in complex arbitrations, providing opinions and the drafting of documents. His practice areas of focus include insurance-related matters and company law. In respect of the latter he focuses mainly on directors’ liability, shareholders disputes and reportable irregularities in terms of the Auditing Profession Act. In addition, he focuses on high-end criminal matters (mostly white-collar crime involving anti-bribery, corruption, compliance, reporting obligations and interplay with forensic investigations) representing both accused persons, complainants and victims. He also specialises in Agribusiness, mostly contractual and delictual claims, Anglophone Africa, Technology, Media and Telecommunications as well as tax litigation, both civil and criminal.
He has acted for private individuals as well as large national and international companies and has extensive experience dealing with litigation matters within Sub Saharan Africa context. He has been involved with matters in Kenya, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Swaziland, Lesotho, Malawi, Botswana and Mauritius.
