Will handles intellectual property matters, including patent litigation, patent prosecution and counseling, on behalf of clients operating in a variety of technology spaces.

Will has experience litigating patent disputes before federal district courts, the International Trade Commission, and the US Patent Trial and Appeal Board, as well as litigating intellectual property ownership disputes before state courts. He has experience with patents concerning diverse technologies, including signal processing, digital video recording, electronic controls, semiconductor fabrication, mechanical toys, food-additive compositions, surface coating compositions, suspension bridge construction, and laser finishing of fabrics. Will also maintains an active patent prosecution practice which includes preparation and prosecution of patent applications on behalf of clients in the electrical, mechanical and computer-related arts, as well as coordinating foreign prosecution in jurisdictions worldwide.

Relevant Experience

• Represents clients in all aspects of patent litigation including pre-filing diligence, discovery, motion practice, claim construction, development of expert reports, expert and fact witness deposition preparation, and pre-trial preparation
• Represents clients in inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board
• Prepares and prosecutes patent applications in the mechanical, electrical, and software arts for inventions including those relating to automotive systems, financial services, consumer apparel, and energy technologies
• Conducts due diligence, freedom-to-operate, validity, and patentability analyses, and provides legal opinions to clients based on his analysis
