USCIS Extends Office Closures Until May 4, 2020

April, 2020 - James Aldrich

The USCIS has announced it will extend its suspension of in-person services at its field offices, asylum offices, and application support centers (ASCs) until May 4, 2020. It has also indicated it may extend these closures beyond that date if needed. USCIS will continue to provide limited emergency services during these closures.

USCIS field offices will send notices to applicants and petitioners with scheduled appointments and naturalization ceremonies affected by the extended closures. USCIS asylum offices will send interview cancellation notices and automatically reschedule asylum interviews. When these interviews are rescheduled, asylum applicants will receive new interview notices with the new time, date and location of the interview.

When USCIS again resumes normal operations, it will automatically reschedule ASC appointments by issuing new appointments letter via US mail. Individuals who had InfoPass or other appointments must reschedule through theUSCIS Contact Centeronce field offices are open to the public again.
