Heuking starts next year with four new equity partners and seven new salaried partners

Heuking promotes four equity partners from its own ranks to the partnership and additionally promote seven senior associates as salaried partners as of January 2024.

Boris Dürr, Managing Partner for Human Resources, is pleased to note that eleven Heuking lawyers have advanced in their careers. “The new equity and salaried partners have a wide range of expertise, which reflects our broad range of legal advice as a full-service law firm. It is worth noting that numerous new partners exhibit a strong international orientation, with a focus on Iceland, Turkey, and China, the promotion of the longstanding members of the desks therefore reinforces particularly our Turkey and China Desks even further. Several new partners also specialize in transaction advising, which has long been a cornerstone of our success. The new equity and salaried partners reflect our strong internal potential and are proof of the successful promotion of our associates and salaried partners.

The following lawyers (listed in alphabetical order) will be admitted to equity partnership:

Dr. Hans Henning Hoff
(Hamburg) specializes in corporate law (Corporate/M&A) and real estate law. Hoff advises on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate restructuring projects. He also counsels clients on real estate and plant engineering activities (particularly on geothermal energy projects). He has numerous contacts to Iceland as a result of his practice as an Icelandic lawyer and therefore advises Icelandic businesses on their activities in Germany and German enterprises on Icelandic legislation, particularly relating to corporate transactions.

Martin Karwatzki, LL.M.
(Cologne) is a member of the Insurance and Litigation & Arbitration practice groups and advises on insurance law and liability law. His practice focuses on complex D&O claims and the defense and enforcement of claims pertaining to financial loss liability insurance. This specifically includes the defending of allegations in collective redress proceedings in the area of capital and financial investments.

Christoph Prochnau, LL.B. (Hamburg) advises on national and international M&A transactions and counsels startups and investors in venture capital financing rounds. His responsibilities as a member of the Private Equity/Venture Capital and Corporate/M&A practice groups include advising on corporate law matters, including the establishment and administration of corporations, transformation legislation, complex corporate reorganizations, and corporate law disputes.

Dr. H. Erdem Şişmangil, LL.M. (Frankfurt) is an M&A/Corporate lawyer with many years of experience in multiple jurisdictions, a member of Heuking’s Corporate/M&A, Private Equity/Venture Capital and Banking & Finance practice groups, and a leading member of the Turkey Desk. Besides local and cross-border M&A projects and general commercial law, he is also an expert with international clients, in particular with well-known Turkish corporations and private clients doing business in Germany and Europe.
