Heuking advises AL-KO on the sale of Prinz Kinematics to Mutares
A Heuking team led by Munich M&A partners Boris Dürr and Marcel Greubel advised technology group AL-KO on the sale of Prinz Kinematics GmbH to Mutares SE & Co. KGaA. The closing took place at the beginning of January; the transaction has thus been successfully completed.
Prinz Kinematics is a leading global automotive supplier of kinematic systems, specialising in the development and production of hinge and closure systems used in vehicle doors, tailgates and bonnets for premium OEM customers. Prinz is headquartered in Stromberg, Germany, and operates two full-scale production facilities in Ruse (Bulgaria) and Shenyang (China). With around 300 employees, Prinz generates sales of more than EUR 50 million. Mutares plans to integrate Prinz Kinematics into their growing portfolio company KICO & ISH Group.
Mutares SE & Co. KGaA is a listed private equity company headquartered in Munich and further offices in Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Helsinki, London, Madrid, Milan, Paris, Shanghai, Stockholm, Warsaw and Vienna. Mutares focuses on the acquisition of medium-sized companies in transitional situations and corporate spin-offs. Mutares expects consolidated revenues of around EUR 5 billion for the financial year 2023, with over 27,000 employees working for the Mutares Group worldwide.
The team led by Boris Dürr frequently advises AL-KO on M&A transactions as well as on other legal matters, e.g. most recently on the sale of the ventilation technology manufacturer AL-KO Therm GmbH.
A team from SGP Schneider Geiwitz led by Peter Wieland acted as M&A advisor to AL-KO.
