The TCEQ will hold an informational meeting today (August 31) from 9:30 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. (CST) to discuss the proposed changes to the air quality permit by rule and standard permit for oil and gas production facilities. TCEQ has proposed significant changes to both of these expedited air quality permitting authorizations that will make it more difficult to qualify for, and more complicated to comply with, the authorization.

The informational meeting will allow for interested persons to ask questions and provide information to TCEQ staff responsible for the proposed revisions. The meeting, however, is not part of the official process for submitting comments on the proposed revisions. Persons wishing to provide comments that would be considered as part of the administrative record will have to either orally submit the comments at the scheduled September 14, 2010 public hearing, or in writing to the TCEQ by September 17, 2010.

TCEQ also will host participants at several regional offices and the meeting will be webcast. Full details regarding participating in or viewing the meeting can be found here.
