Karanovic & Nikolic Advises the Seller of Electric Buses for the City of Belgrade

September, 2016 - Karanovic & Nikolic

Karanovic & Nikolic is pleased to have advised on the recent public procurement case in which our client – the seller – provided the City of Belgrade with five new electric buses for the city's public transport system. The team that led the client throughout the process was represented by Marjan Poljak, Partner, and Ana Stankovic, Senior Associate.

The buses in question have already started operating, and their route has been allocated between the Vuk monument and the Belville neighbourhood in New Belgrade. At the same time, these five vehicles have been reported to be the first line of fully electric buses in Europe, putting Belgrade into a unique position in this regard. The ecological aspect of this update should also not be overlooked since – in a city that predominantly uses diesel-fuelled buses for its public transport – it will be bringing a much needed breath of fresh air, and hopefully a promise of similar "green" oriented projects to come in the future.
